If Your School Does Not Offer AP Courses:
- Search the College Board AP Course Ledger to find approved schools that offer AP courses and exams.
- Search by country, state/province, or city to locate a nearby school that allows external students to test.
- Contact the school, speak to their AP Coordinator, and confirm if you can register as an external student.
- If accepted, the AP Coordinator will order exam materials, inform you of the test schedule, and collect fees.
- Tip: Start searching early! While November 15 is the usual deadline, some schools may still accept students after this date but may charge late fees.
-
AP for Homeschooled Students
- If you’re homeschooled or your school does not host AP exams, use the AP Course Ledger to find schools that accept external test-takers.
- Contact the AP Coordinator at the chosen school to confirm their policy and deadlines for homeschoolers.

- The AP Coordinator will handle exam materials, scheduling, and payment.
