Overview
The IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (AI) course is designed for students interested in applying mathematics to real-world contexts. Course Content
- Number and Algebra: Sequences, financial mathematics, and problem-solving techniques.
- Functions: Exploring, modeling, and interpreting different types of functions and their graphs.
- Geometry and Trigonometry: Vectors, trigonometric functions, and geometric modeling.
- Statistics and Probability: Data presentation, statistical analysis, probability theory, and interpreting results.
- Calculus: Introduction to limits, derivatives, and applications of differentiation (SL); HL includes integration and extended calculus.
- Mathematical Technology: Extensive use of graphing calculators and digital tools for exploration and assessment.
- Internal Assessment (IA): Guidance on formulating, researching, and writing a successful mathematical exploration.
- Exam Preparation: Training for Paper 1 (without calculator), Paper 2 (with calculator), and Paper 3 (HL only, technology-focused). Practice with real IB past papers and question types.
