More Detail

AP Biology Course
AP Biology is one of the most rigorous and rewarding AP science courses offered by the College Board. FenDoDo’s AP Bio course is designed to help students master all content areas, from molecules to ecosystems, and develop strong scientific reasoning and test-taking skills. Our expert tutors guide you through every unit, making complex topics easy to understand and giving you the confidence to excel on the AP exam.

Course Content

  • Chemistry of Life: Structure of atoms, molecules, water, macromolecules, and biological processes.
  • Cell Structure & Function: Organelles, membranes, transport, cellular communication, and cell cycle.
  • Cellular Energetics: Enzymes, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, energy flow.
  • Genetics & Information Transfer: DNA, RNA, gene regulation, heredity, and biotechnology.
  • Evolution: Natural selection, population genetics, phylogeny, and speciation.
  • Ecology: Interactions, ecosystems, population dynamics, and global change.
  • Systems & Physiology: Animal systems, plant structure, immune and endocrine systems.
  • Lab Skills: Experimental design, data analysis, graphing, and AP-style free-response questions.

Exam Structure

  • Section I: Multiple Choice (50%, 1 hr 30 min) — 60 questions covering molecules and cells, heredity and evolution, organisms and populations, genetics, ecology, and laboratory-based concepts.
  • Section II: Free Response (50%, 1 hr 30 min) — 6 questions requiring students to analyze data, explain reasoning, and apply biological concepts to experimental or real-world scenarios.

Skills Developed

  • Scientific reasoning and analysis
  • Data interpretation and graphing
  • Application of biological concepts to new scenarios
  • Designing experiments and interpreting results
  • Clear, concise scientific writing
  • AP exam strategies for multiple choice and free response

Who Should Take AP Biology?

  • Students taking AP Biology in school or self-studying for the AP exam
  • Learners aiming for a 4 or 5 on the AP Biology exam
  • Anyone interested in life sciences, medicine, or STEM majors
  • International students needing strong biology foundations for university

College Credit

Many U.S. colleges grant credit or advanced placement for high AP Biology scores (usually a 4 or 5). This can satisfy introductory biology or lab course requirements, allowing students to advance to higher-level biology, biochemistry, or STEM courses earlier in their college curriculum.
